There were a few people I really liked - but there were so many people I can't remember anyone (the black chick on roller skates from the last day was real purrrty).
BTW - Paris is from Rockford, IL and my sister saw her at a restaurant a few months ago. She was the fav of my niece and nephew and they got a picture with her and an autograph. They were really excited - altho my sis says she was a little on the uppity side, but I guess it can get to be a hassle when everyone is asking you for pics everywhere you go...Then again, that was what you signed up for with American Idol.

Well there's like 11 or so people left in the competition and I'm actually suprised at how good a lot of the people are. Now in my opinion if they kick off that Sanjaya and Hailey the show will be awesome. but the people I'm really liking this season are Stephanie, Melinda, Chris, and of course Lakisha cuz she's representin MI, plus she has an awesome voice!

Overall - girls beat out the boys by far.
# 1 singers: LaKesha and Melinda
# 1 American Idol material: Blake, Jordin
I just think Blake has more commercial appeal. He's more contemporary than the others (loved the 311 song he did), but doesn't have the power voice. Jordin has a power voice AND pop appeal.
LaKesha and Melinda have great voices, but I think they appeal to an older audience - just not pop-star material. Also like Stephanie, but I don't think she has the mass appeal either.
Next vote offs: Sanjaya, Chris R. (the skinny one)

Easy now. That's exactly why I hate the show. I don't watch it, but it gets so much coverage on every news and entertainment show that I manage to keep up. In my humble opinion, they all suck! The whole show is based on the need for semi-talented people to turn into pop stars, as if we haven't already got enough of them, so it's just perfect that people are voting for the suckiest of all. I have never cast a single vote for any season of American Idol, but I might just start calling in for Sanjaya, just on principle. |

Why the AI hostility, Bern?? Some of them are pretty darn good singers, and if I had that voice (and was 20 years younger) I'd totally roll the dice.
I say Sanjaya should go, and Stephanie got robbed. Even if it was just those bottom 2 (Chris R and Steph) Steph should have stayed.I think she flew under the radar too much. She wasn't a LaKesha, but she didn't suck like Sanjaya.
Hey though...my call on Chris R. a couple fo days ago was pretty good, huh? The judges all said it as his best performance to date and he still ended up in the bottom 2. He is not long for the show.
As of today...John votes for Blake, I am leaning towards Jordin.
(Although he just told me that now that he knows of the campaign for Sanjaya ala Howard Stern and votefortheworst.com, he is attracted to the subversive nature of voting for him.)

I guess I'm sick of the whole idea of being thrust into stardom on all of those reality shows. Look at what it wrought on The View, right --- a less than talented blowhard who thinks she deserves to spew her opinion at anyone who'll listen. It's just the whole culture of AI. It starts out (and I'm ready for the backlash after I say this) taking advantage of people with questionable mental health who just want to get on TV and then it rips whoever's left standing for among other things, "being pitchy", which doesn't even fucking make sense. See, if you are singing and pitchy, it implies that you are either on pitch, as in singing the right pitch or covered in tar, which wouldn't affect your singing. Paula is completely simpy and spineless and full of shit. And Simon is just mad that his nipples aren't hard enough to cut glass, although, maybe they are. Really, Simon is the only one whose opinion is any good, but he's just plain nasty.
Honestly, I don't get the entertainment from it that so many others do. It's just petty and mean and shallow and if I wanted that, I'd organize a family reunion.

I agree with Bernie. The selection process is very suspect if you think of the show in terms of an actual singing talent hunt. See votefortheworst.com for some behind the scenes revelations about how skewed the process is. Now that I know that though, I'm kind of enjoying the whole train wreck a little bit more. Goooo Sanjaya!!!
